The Auckland Girls library plays a key role in supporting student learning and achievement.
It provides access to a wide-range of resources in our diverse and fast-changing 21st century information landscape. The aim of the library is to promote independent research skills using the library resources, and to foster life-long learning and an understanding of the role libraries play in the learning process.
The library provides:
An extensive and diverse fiction collection by traditional as well as modern authors
Non-fiction and reference materials are available in both print and electronic formats
Magazines include academic and general interest titles
Students have access to the school intranet, internet, and online databases which allows them to source internal and external information efficiently and effectively as needed. Research is integral to NCEA and students are encouraged to make good use of all facilities in the library. The librarians liaise with the faculties to ensure that the resources provided, support the curriculum.
The library is staffed by qualified and experienced librarians, assisted by trained student librarians, to create an efficient, friendly and student-centred environment.
