AGGS Celebrates Over $600,000 in Tertiary Scholarships for 2024!

We are delighted to announce that Auckland Girls’ Grammar School students have been awarded an astounding $626,000 in scholarships this year! This impressive achievement is a testament to the dedication and resilience of our students and the strong support from our scholarship partners.

Scholarship Highlights:

  • Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland Scholarships – Our students received 18 scholarships totaling $238,000 across various categories. Many awards include accommodation in a Hall of Residence, covering meals, gym memberships, and tutorial support.
    • Top Achiever Scholarships: Awarded to Samarah Basir (Dux), Rubylee Greenwood, and Sofiama Maile, these prestigious awards recognize outstanding academic and extracurricular accomplishments.
    • Pacific Excellence Scholarship: Awarded to Sisilea Veaila.
  • University of Otago (Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka) – 7 scholarships awarded, providing substantial financial support for our students.
  • Auckland University of Technology (Te Wānanga Aronui o Tāmaki Makaurau) – 6 scholarships awarded, with recipients having options for either accommodation or a fees contribution over three years.
  • Sir George Elliot Scholarship – Rubylee Greenwood has been awarded this prestigious $25,000 scholarship. She will receive it at an official presentation by Governor-General Dame Cindy Kiro at Government House on November 22. AGGS has proudly received five Sir George Elliot Scholarships since the Trust’s establishment in 1999.
  • Te Kuhunga Law Scholarships – Annually awarded to 10 students through the Meredith Connell Law Firm, our two scholarship recipients will each receive $8,000, alongside mentorship from practising lawyers and regular workshops.
