In the lead up to Auckland Girls’ Grammar School’s 2025 Open Day, on June 10, the school is continuing to live up to its mantra – delivering Excellence in the Heart of Ponsonby.
In this bonus video profile Principal Ngaire Ashmore and members of her Senior Leadership team – plus student leaders (past and present) and various Faculty Heads – talk about all that AGGS has to offer.
At the start of this year AGGS celebrated its second year of outstanding academic results – NCEA Levels 1, 2 and 3 were all in the mid-90 percentile for 2024 and UE success at 87.6 percent.
But AGGS doesn’t just have academic excellence to offer – it has incredible facilities, including a gym being revamped, a heated swimming pool and a diving pool, a dance studio, undercover “cloud” for sports, a new science block and a Technology Block, where students can work hands-on in specialist workshops.
Its staff is acclaimed and the school offers full wraparound services for its students and under Ashmore’s tenure as Principal AGGS’ excellent stats literally speak for themselves.
As Principal Ashmore says in opening the video: “Open Day is an opportunity to come in and look at our beautiful school.
“You may have walked or driven up or down Howe St and wondered what that school is with that magnificent old building and here’s a chance for you to come in and see the school in action.”
Open Day is on June 10 with morning (9.30am) and evening (6pm) sessions … and the open door policy is very much that, with everyone welcome.
