Ngā Tūmanako o Kahurangi

Whāia te iti Kahurangi, ki te tuohu koe, me he maunga teitei.

Seek the treasure you value most dearly,

if you bow your head, let it be to a lofty mountain.

Ngā Tūmunako o Kahurangi is a whanau unit established in 1986. It is based on the principles of te reo and tikanga Maori, developing te taha hinengaro, tinana and wairua, mana wahine, and striving for excellence in all aspects of school life.

Kōhine mā, e ara e!

We will do this by ensuring culture, language and identity are paramount so that kōhine are confident to participate in Te Ao Māori and Te Ao Hurihuri as leaders in their own communities and on the global stage.

The mission of Kahurangi is to foster:

Ngā Tūmanako o Kahurangi welcomes all kōhine at all stages in their personal pursuit of excellence.

Celebrating our culture, language and identity

Through Ngā Tūmanako o Kahurangi, we acknowledge and celebrate the potential and uniqueness that comes from being Māori. We equip our kōhine with the cultural knowledge to stand strong in their taha Māori, and cloak them with experiences that equip them for Te Ao Hurihuri.

We acknowledge whānau as the backbone to our kōhine. We look forward to you being active members of our school community.

If you are interested in becoming part of our Kahurangi  whānau please indicate this on your daughter’s enrolment form.
