Auckland Girls’ Grammar School again shone brightly at the 50th anniversary of Polyfest, which took place across four days in early April.
AGGS has a super proud history at the event and its across-the-board success continued again in 2025.
Although there were three weather-disputed days, students, teachers, families, organisers, supporters, and a plethora of spectators still came out in the rain, resulting in a packed venue at Manukau – with the sun coming to the party on the fourth day.
Competitor-wise, more than 11-thousand students from almost 80 schools all around Aotearoa turned-it-on big time with dazzling performances on each of the six dedicated stages – representing Māori, Cook Islands, Niue, Samoan, Tongan, and ‘diverse’ cultures.
The festival opened with two diversity stages in 2025, featuring cultural performances from diverse communities, including Chinese, Indian, and South Korean.
AGGS’ groups were again to the fore, on every stage, finishing second Overall Girls School for 2025, behind McAuley High School and Kelston Girls College.
